Figuring it Out

the Figure 8 scarf, that is:

I bought my kit directly from Anna Maria Horner's shop and then followed her blog post to make the scarf

I love how the scarf turned out!  It has velveteen on one side and voile on the other and is very cozy. It was very easy to make, even with the tiny bit of hand stitching that you have to do at the end.  I can see myself making more of this style.

Since the scarf turns out rather wide, I realized that I could pull it up over my head and it could double as a little hood if I want.  This will come in handy for all of my trips in and out of my car during the winter months.

Of course, now I want to get some of the voile that's in this scarf (it's pink and navy) and make myself a shirt with it....

On another note, I won a fabulous giveaway over at Pink Chalk Studio's blog.  What did I win?  I won a fat quarter set of Anna Maria Horner's Field Study.  I chose the Patina colorway.  I think that Kathy e-mailed me on Wednesday night to let me know that I won, and my fabric arrived today!  Pink Chalk is a great shop (and I'm not just saying that because I won!).  They are one of the few shops online that I order from because they are great to deal with and they ship very quickly, too.
