I took this photo earlier, and I have actually made about another 3/4 in. progress since then. Having never knit socks before, I'm not sure how much longer I need to keep knitting until I start the toe portion. Probably at least another inch or inch and a half. We'll see, I guess.
I want to get a pair finished so that I can move on to a new sock pattern!

For never knitting a sock before, you are doing magnificently!! It looks fantastic, and I love the yarn! Marie had me try my sock on while knitting it, to know how big to make it. Have you tried that? wow, it looks great!! Very exciting!
Thanks! I did attempt to try it on....it was just a bit awkward with all of the needles on there and I didn't like how it was stretched a bit when I took it off. But it did work enough that I have an idea of how much more I need to knit!
