I have been waiting and waiting, all school year, for my cell phone contract to expire so that I could get a new phone.
Due to the nature of my job, I wanted to have a phone that I could use to check my e-mail on. Did I need to buy a phone that was quite so expensive...no, but I figured why not go for the whole "enchilada".
So, my contract expired on Wednesday. I had been looking at plans and thinking for weeks, but I still spend hours on Wednesday night and then all of my free time yesterday trying to decide what level of phone and what level of service to choose.
I spent quite a bit of time last night entering my order, then re-entering when I realized I had missed the spot to "port" my current cell number. It seemed to go okay... My husband wanted the reward points for his credit card, so we entered his information in the payment section.
Well, I came home today to find an e-mail that said I need to call because they needed more information. Well, the credit card didn't match with the social security number and so they couldn't process the order...and no, we can't just change that information over the phone, the order has to be cancelled and must be started over. (Mind you, it is already past 4 p.m at this point which I think means they won't do anything with the new order until Monday)
So, I started over...entered it all again...by now, I'm getting pretty quick at it. I expected to get a confirmation e-mail within moments...and none came. Well, then the phone rings...it's an 800 number (I *mostly heart* caller id), and we never answer those calls and they usually hang up. Oh no, not this time...it's the FRAUD department from my husband's credit card calling about "suspicious" activity....and mind you he has to work tonight and I had to wake him from a nap in the chair to call them back. **sigh**
Oh, and they said...I had to go online and enter the information AGAIN! At least we know that the fraud monitoring works. I've gotten another confirmation e-mail so I am hoping the third time is the charm! All of this re-entering business is really raining on my new phone parade!!
p.s. I didn't read back thru this post, so please ignore any spelling mistakes or other errors :-)
