These photos may not look like much, but in actuality they show ~14 re-usable shopping bags in progress. The pattern I am using is Michelle Patterns Grocery Bag PDF pattern. I like making the large size. With the exception of the chihuahua fabric that you can spy in the top photo, pretty much all of the fabrics are Christmas/Holiday fabric.
I had wanted to make these bags prior to this past Christmas, but didn't end up getting them done. So, I figured I would get a head start for the next Christmas. My plan is to give them as gifts or even use them as gift wrapping- a gift inside a gift, if you will. I had hoped to finish them already, but I have been slowed down by a bug this week. So maybe they'll get finished up over the weekend. I'll be sure to post more photos of the completed bags.

great idea! hope you feel better soon.
Good job - you'll be ahead of the game for next Christmas - and you'll love not having to rush around that the last minute kicking your own butt for not having started earlier :D Ask me how I know that, lol! I frequently give bags as gifts --- it's the gift that they can keep and use, or give away without guilt! I did a duck themed gift for one of my great nephews this past Christmas - I tucked the little ducky items into a duck drawstring bag (from a book called Fast Fun and Easy Critter Bags). My niece fell in love with the bag and regifted it to someone else to share the cute :D That's an excellent reaction to a gift, so I'll be making her a few more from the book :)
Feel better soon!
Using them as a gift bag is a wonderful idea --- a two-fer! The fabrics are beautiful.
Hope you are feeling better soon.
