(This is a photo of a hibiscus bloom on a hibicus tree we had outside this summer. The blooms are gorgeous, although not nearly this colorful since we had to bring it inside.)
it had been so long since I have made a post. I was really trying to post something at least once a week, if not more. I guess that's not going so well.
I have been doing some crafting...I am knitting another dishcloth, using this pattern (ravelry link), although I have not had as much time to devote to it as I might like.I keep thinking about other crafts that I need to be working on...gifts I need to complete soon, and then gifts I would like to give for Christmas. My goal is to give each member of my family something handmade as part of their gift. I'm realizing that I'm going to have to get my rear in gear if that is going to happen. I am already working on a blanket for my niece. Of course, I haven't done much work on it since this last photo I took...and I'm not really crushing on the giant granny square, but not sure I want to start over on something else at this point, either. *sigh*
Another thing that I am attempting to do is use what I have in my stash and not buy too much else to complete these Christmas gift projects. This is a bit harder to do than I anticipated! I definitely want to make some hats and so I am going to have to purchase some circular needles in sizes that I don't have in order to do this...oh and some larger dpn's, too... it seems like the list keeps growing.
In other news, I am super busy at work. I never seem to have much time to slow down and even breathe. Children seem to be climbing out of the woodwork this year. I simply can not handle any more students on my list and since I am the only person doing my job for my cooperative, I'm not real sure what's going to happen with that. I could give you more info, but worry that it would just bore you, so I won't. I will say that crummy, rainy weather makes for miserable itinerant teachers. Oh, and never mind the thought of catching H1N1 from some school I go to... there is already a confirmed case at one of my schools. Can you imagine how often I am washing my hands and then desperately trying to remember to not touch my face, either? And I do the 30 second counting thing each time I wash.
It's all good.
