Such As It Is....
This is the finished quilt top. I realized about halfway through sewing all of these blocks into this giant top that I had assembled one of the block in the wrong order. So, the flow of the top is a bit off, but I wasn't about to go back and rip apart the top so that I could rip apart 9 giant blocks (have I mentioned that I hate having to rip seams apart?) in order to fix it. Fortunately, my DH will never notice and that's the important part. The 'wrongness' is less noticeable in person, probably because you can't really look at the whole quilt at one time.
I do like this pattern (Come What May by Jaybird Quilts) and I definitely want to make another one of these, in a smaller size. The blocks come together quickly and the top is easy to assemble, too.

I have no idea where the mistake is and I'm looking for it! Looks fabulous! What is the finished size?
I can't find the mistake either! It's a wonderful quilt top. Great job!
Great job! As an aside, my sister (who quilts occasionally) has told me that the Amish will deliberately stitch a mistake into their quilts since nothing is perfect except God. Always thought was interesting.
Pretty! What will you be using as backing?
Absolutely beautiful Sally, I can't see where the mistake is. I know he will love it a lot and it's made with lots of love as well.
When I get the seam puller out the entire family packs up and leaves the house. I am not kidding. I HATE to pull out stuff, but invariably have to.
I think the quilt looks fabu' and I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. I betcha' he doesn't.
And as Pooldad and I say when I bake [and screw it up so it comes out funky looking, but still tastes good] "That's not ugly. It's ARTISAN." HA!
You may have turned one block the wrong way, but it is still going to keep him warm, right? It's ARTISAN Sally, don't you forget it. :D
Hugs!
This is gorgeous! I wish I had such a lovely huge quilt :)
