with my blogging, that is. I'm not really sure why, since I usually have my computer by my chair and could easily blog while I'm watching t.v.
I have done lots of sewing since my last post:
A baby blanket for my step-brother's son.
A baby blanket and a peek-a-boo toy bag for a friend's two little girls.
Another toy bag for my nephew.
A quilt for my aunt. She unexpected had triple by-pass surgery and I wanted to make her something. Tutorial for the hearts comes from here.
I made a top for my niece. The pattern is the Butterfly Blouse by Oliver + S.
I tested a pattern for Kristen at WoollyPetals. The pattern is available for purchase here. Make sure to read the terms careful, before purchasing, if you were thinking that you wanted to make some of these for sale.
This is a large sized pouch I made, trying to figure out some pouch maths prior to making a pouch that was a custom order.
I made this quilt for my other step-brother and his bride, as a wedding gift. I started the quilt in April, and they got married in May. While the top was done, it took me a bit of time to figure out what I wanted to use for the back... in general, I really don't like piecing backs (contrary to what it may seem based on the other quilt shown in this post). Then, I took it to a long-armer to be quilted...this puppy is really big. I just threw it across the top of our bed in this photo so that I could get a picture of it before we finally gifted it to them over Labor Day weekend.
A lot more happened, too. I have a new nephew born in July. Shortly after his birth, they discovered that he has very tiny kidneys. He spent a few days in the regular hospital, and then was transported to a children's hospital and spend a little over two weeks there. He is at home now although, he is eventually looking at dialysis and a kidney transplant, but right now he is doing well on medications and special formula to keep his levels on target.
I probably have more to say, but I'd best get this published. I'd like to be back soon, but I'll make no promises :)

what a wonderful bunch of finishes! keeping that sweet baby in my prayers, and your aunt too.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah welcome back to blogging - so good to see a post from you - and full of sewy picturey goodness! I don't suppose it would be much of a surprise if I said that the cat zippies are my favourites, lol. I just won 3 sets of kitty charms on ebay to use for zipper pulls - is there any time a kitty embellishment isn't appropriate? I think not ;)
I hope everything goes well with your aunt and your little nephew - scary stuff!
Hmm, a hard time blogging? I certainly identify. But I'm also thinking you do a lot of sewing as well. Hard to find that balance, especially with the teaching full-time gig. I'm amazed you get anything done at all!!!!!
I can see why you haven't blogged.....you've been busy sewing! Love those kitty pouches.
Best wishes to your nephew. Hope everything goes well.
Love your cat pouches. Prayers for the little one. Kidney issues in infants are troublesome. Dialysis at such a young age....God bless
