My craft room is still out of control. However, tonight the dog got tangled up in the cords from my sewing machine (it was sitting on the kitchen table, and our dog is big)...and pulled Bettina off the table! She went crashing to the floor. She does still turn on, and needed to go in for servicing anyway. So, I'll pack her up later tonight and take her in to the "hospital". Hopefully, it won't be too expensive to get her back to tip-top shape. In the interim, I guess I'll have time to get organized! Plus, I'm thinking that I might want to consider getting a sewing cabinet (but, I know they are pricey!) so that I can get my machine back into the craft room....
I did buy myself a dry erase board to hang on the end of one of my cabinets in the craft room. I listed all of the projects I want to make and that I also have the supplies for on the the board. I can see it each time I walk down the hall. I also added a little section at the bottom for housework...I thought it might be motivating.
I have finished all of the base blocks for the Birdie Stitches Block of the Month:
They will have sashing (or whatever you call it) in between each block, I just didn't have enough room to go down much farther on the fence. It gives you an idea, though. Now, I just have to get caught up on the embroidery! I have Feb., March, and April to do. Technically, I guess I'm not behind on April, yet!
I also made two potholders and two dishcloths to give as part of the my bridal shower gift for my brother and his fiancee. The yarn was a pretty ombre cotton that had a dark red, pink and a tan... I wasn't able to take a good photo of them, so you'll have to use your imagination.
I also made a baby blanket to give as a shower gift. I wasn't able to attend the shower, but have already received a written and verbal thank you. I saw the recipient today (a co-worker) and she was so over-the-moon thrilled about the blanket and that I had made it myself. She said she has been showing it to everyone. That made me so happy, that she was so thrilled with the gift!
I have chosen a pattern for a smaller quilt that I want to make for my brother and his bride. It is Hexagon Park. My sister-in-law to-be loves black and white, especially in a damask pattern and then throw in a little red for good measure. So, I have picked out a few black/white, white/black, and red fabrics...and need to pick out a couple more, then I'll start cutting and hope that my Bettina isn't in the shop too long!
P.S. I forgot to say that I took a little trip, too, to Vegas! We didn't win, but then we weren't really expecting to win. We did see a show...Love, the Cirque du Soleil show featuring Beatles music. It was wonderful. We really loved it. I also drank a margarita...
I don't drink often, at all, and at 48oz., it took me several hours to drink (and I didn't even finish mine!). It was fun, though, to walk around a bit with a blender drink cup :-)

Lookin' good, Sally! I bet those embroidery blocks are up on the fence by sheer wind force--right? It's been terribly windy up here in Sycamore.
Love the Hexagon Park pattern---careful though, Lynne makes everything look freaking easy! I think the black/white with a splash of red combo sounds quite striking. You'll have to keep us updated with pictures.
I'm going to do the sew sweetness sew-a-long Jamie dress. It won't be as awesome as your schoolhouse tunic but it'll be the first clothing item I've made in a while (maybe since my sister's prom dress in 88!)
That birdie block is very inspiring. I love the first stitched block. Nice.
Don't laugh, but my vert word is: pokers - as in Las Vegas! :)
And that is a serious drink. I would call it a WIN! :)
sounds like you've been having some fun! Your heart must have stopped when the machine hit the floor though, mine would have! At least you can finish up the birdie blocks without a machine, right? Hope they get it fixed up & back to you very soon
