Well, those little half squares have now turned into this:
I believe I mentioned that the fabric came from Moda scrap bags. Two scrap bags, to be exact. It was not a pattern, but a make-it-up-as-you-go-along kind of situation. I tried to be as random as possible in the piecing of the squares and sewing of the strips. I threw all of the half-squares into a shopping bag and pulled them out one at a time and just did them in the order they came out of the bag. There were two different "blocks" that just happened because when I was sewing and making the half-squares, I didn't do it the same every time. Live and learn.
Now, I just need to make my sandwich of backing and batting and quilt it (which I have NEVER done before)...and get it bound by the time I go to bed on Thursday night. I'm leaving to go out of town on Friday to see my family, and this is a birthday gift for my niece (her party is on Sat. night).

Very cute. Love the girly colors.
It really looks intentional I love the pattern. Pretty colors she will love it.
Ohh la la, looking good! I love when I finish a quilt top... there's such a sense of satisfaction in seeing the pieces all together. (Then again, I almost never do any quilting these days, but I still remember the joy of it!)
